Before you Visit Therapist:scary confession by Nepali patient Via Reddit 

You must check their credentials but this is mostly about my experience with a "professional therapist" who holds a Phd.

So this was in the first week of July, and I thought that I had felt better after venting my problems but then, a client had to overlap my turn for the session as her condition was labeled emergency.

Later, I was to be dropped off by my therapist as the way was intersectional. Whilst she’s in her car, she then sighed, “Tyo aghi ko bahini sanga sabai kura raicha, tei pani suicidal thoughts aayo re. Kasto manchelai sabai kura bhaye ni kina testo sochnu pareko k.”

I was way too shocked to hear that and regretted my decision of venting off my things. But I was told that she’s the best one we’d in Nepal and I would get better within 2 months. Two months- that’s what she said.

And then here are the things that I found very disturbing while being with her:

· She’d revealed the names of my friends who’d visited for therapy. After that, I felt that I too was judged for my problems and would be one or other day.

· She denies this act of her. I have also visited psychiatrists and psychologists and mentioned about this and have pleaded them to tell me if I do have schizophrenia as I was ready to take medications. So before the end of my sessions, when I vented to her how frustrating it was to see people post about their “logic” of being anti-vax, she’d replied to me, “Ahh Bill Gates ko foundation haru le vaccine ma chips halcha ani manche ko actions control garcha.” It’s unbelievable but unfortunately it was true too.

· She lied me about her rental structure. She told me that she’d to pay the owner Rs.1,00,000/- monthly. However, I was told by the accountant/receptionist that it was not more than Rs.60,000/-. The thing that annoys me is because she always bitched about the owners and how merciless they were to not spare her rental expenses in the time of pandemic. Funny how she’d collect Rs.30,000 before starting my session and wouldn’t spare the for the day when she was absent.

· The worst thing is that she’d accused me of having low self-esteem when I vented how I didn’t like my photos being put in social media without consent. After 2 months of requests and warnings, she still has my photos in her instagram and facebook account. When I tried to get help from the police on this issue, I was told that the person is held responsible only when the photos being put in social media are photo shopped to make it look vulgar. One of the sisters with whom I had group sessions was also very disturbed after knowing that her photos are being put in her social media profiles. She also said that Ganga ma’am hadn’t replied to her emails where she’d requested her to delete her photos.

· My current therapist says that my previous therapist doesn’t hold license to practice therapy and that I wasn’t her first client who’d been victim of carelessness. I now know that she was sued earlier.

· Her instagram and facebook profiles still has pictures of children there who seek help for having autism, ADHD and so. These children can’t even speak against this.
