Flights from Kathmandu to other places have been affected due to continuous rains since Monday. According to Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, more than half a dozen flights have been canceled and 15 more have been delayed. Due to some improvement in the weather, some flights from Kathmandu have resumed.
According to airport data, the Buddha Air flight bound for Biratnagar had returned to Kathmandu after failing to land due to bad weather. All flights from Kathmandu to Lukla and from Lukla to Kathmandu have been delayed and no flights have been operated to Manang. Yeti flight from Kathmandu to Janakpur has been delayed.
The flight of Saurya Air from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi has been canceled while the flight of Summit Air from Kathmandu to Phaplu has been canceled. According to the airport, flights across the country have been affected due to bad weather, but Kathmandu has a normal visibility of five kilometers. Sherpa said that both the VFR and IFR flights would be affected not only around the airport outside Kathmandu but also due to the flight route.
