A Painful Story Of Virgin Mother Who Was Victim Of Minor Case
Hello, I am a virgin mother Niharika Rajput. When I was a 17-year-old minor, I was raped by Shivraj Shrestha of Janakpur. After that, I got pregnant in my womb. The baby is now 21 months old.
I may not have reached far for justice after being raped. Wherever I went, I was shown wrong. The police administration weakened my case from the very beginning of the investigation. When I got involved in the fight for justice, I did not only get non-cooperation from the judiciary, police administration, National Commission for Women. I was rejected by my family. As a result, I have been living in Kathmandu for two and a half years now, paying room rent.
When I was in the fight for justice, I was given financial impetus from death threats. But, I was adamant in my fight. For which I even knocked on the door of the National Commission for Women. But, I didn't get any help. On the contrary, I was treated with weakness.
Despite being rejected by my family and society, I did not give up. I believed that in the end I would get justice from the court. But in the end, due to political power and economic manipulation, the court sided with the criminal. The Dhanusha District Court ruled in favor of the convict on January 7, 2008. The verdict in favor of the offender was no other than to hear the baby in my arms and me crying.
Following the decision of the district court, I filed a case in the Janakpur High Court. The case registered on March 26 has not been heard yet. The court is only lingering on my case. I have no job. You and your child have to survive. And how long do I have to wait for a court decision?
I have no faith in the decision of the court. I am convinced that the court will rule in favor of the victim. The only thing that comes to mind now is the thought of dying. However, after deciding that this battle is not only of Niharika Rajputs but of thousands of Niharikas, I have decided to go on a hunger strike. I am ready to die, but I believe that my death will save the lives of thousands of nebulae.
The purpose of my hunger strike was to get justice. Thousands of Niharikas like me got justice. I have presented my demands in detail.
1. My baby's DNA (MLB) was tested. Carrying a baby in my arms while waiting for the final verdict of the district court, why didn't the judges see the baby in my arms? Who gave the judge the courage to rule in favor of a criminal by kicking the child in the arms of a virgin mother? It had to be investigated impartially.
2. Even though the case was registered in the High Court 4 months ago, no hearing has been fixed yet. My baby and I are dying. Does the court want my death? The High Court had to decide the case as soon as possible.
3. My rapist is walking openly. The police administration arrested him and re-investigated him.
4. My case has been weakened since the beginning of the incident. This issue had to be investigated from the beginning. Yesterday, the police administration, the police officers, and the judge who decided the case without any consideration, were also dragged into the investigation. They also had to be investigated.
5. The state has ensured the basic things like upbringing, care, healthcare, education, etc. of my 21-month-old child.
Until these demands of mine are met, unless I have a guarantee of justice. Until then, I will not break my fast.
